Transforming an industry so it contributes positively to people and the planet is no small task. It is therefore important that decisions, initiatives and investments are informed by robust research and analysis. SFA identifies new research and analysis that is needed to better inform action.
Examples of the types of research and analysis we initiate
National Action
Measuring & Tracking the Climate Impact of the Swedish Apparel & Textiles Industry
We are currently collaborating with Research Institute of Sweden (RISE) and the national textile platform Textile 2030 to develop a method to measure and track on a regular basis the greenhouse gasses created by the Swedish Apparel & Textile Industry.
Climate Action Research
The Scandinavian Textile Initiative for Climate Action (STICA) Progress Reports
As part of our work in STICA, we regularly publish climate and apparel and textiles focused analyses, including calls for policy action. For more information please visit the STICA webpage.
Financing Change
Financing the Transformation in the Fashion Industry
We convene financial and textile experts to discuss how much and what types of financial investment is needed to enable the apparel industry to meet key sustainability targets. This work resulted in a report co-authored by Fashion for Good and BCG titled Financing the Transformation in the Fashion Industry. More recently, the Apparel Impact Institute and Fashion for Good built on this analysis to dive deeper into climate finance, in a report called Unlocking the Trillion Dollar Opportunity.
Pioneering Practices
